Christmas is such a sentimental time for most people. Our homes and are churches are decorated and everything is just perfect. However, what most people forget is that the Blessed Virgin Mary gave birth to the Lamb of God. The wood of the crib points to the wood of the cross. We were born to live and Christ was born to die. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (Jn3.16) As we celebrate Christmas, with all of our gifts and all of our comforts, let us not forget that the sweet little Christ child, lying in the manger is the Lamb of God, destined for Calvary.
