Mushy Teaching = mushy laity = mushy leaders = open borders (your beliefs are outside the Church but you claim to be in communion...i.e. Pelosi, Sebelius, Biden, Kennedy, etc.) Just look at the groups WITHIN the USCCB - JustFaith who partners with Catholic Charities, Maryknoll Fathers/brothers, Bread for the World, Call to Action, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, etc etc etc and the most egregious is PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY ORGANIZING supported by CCHD. The bishops haven't listened to the laity on this for years and years...yet we must support them on this. Faithful Citizenship was a joke and how many priests heard tears of sadness and anger that THE PRIESTS SAID IT WAS OK TO VOTE FOR OBAMA!!!??? Do we deserve it? Yes. Will we fight it? Yes - because our loyalty is to God and the Church; not dissident Bishops and pastors and nuns. Draft a template that we can all write to dissident Catholics and let's do it. Jay for focusing on this abhorrent HHS contraception mandate. This is a frightening direct attack not only on the Catholic community but for all fellow Christians. It’s a slippery slope and if we allow our conscious to be violated in this manner, it won’t be long before there will be “liberty and justice for none.” Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin was spot on as she wrote today(excerpt): “The agenda is not increased “access” to health care services. The ultimate goal is to shut down health care providers – Catholic health care institutions employ about 540,000 full-time workers and 240,000 part-time workers – whose religious views cannot be tolerated by secular zealots and radical social engineers. Is it any surprise their counterparts in the “Occupy” movement have moved from protesting “Wall Street” to harassing pro-life marchers in Washington, D.C., and hurling condoms at Catholic school girls in Rhode Island?” Please, please keep talking about this at Mass and in your articles.
