iPadre #223 – Short History of the Mass – Part 2 — 2 Comments

  1. Hi Father!
I believe it was the podcast regarding the “traditional Catholics” who believe that the Pope is invalid…you mentioned there the Society of Pius X. I am a devotee to Saint Philomena and am a bit confused in regards to her removal from liturgical settings and the loss of emphasis in her veneration as a powerful intercessor. I know the Society of Pius X is strongly against her removal and wondered if you could possibly clear up my confusion. What is going in regards to Saint Philomena and her veneration? Are we allowed to practice and encourage devotion to her?
    Yours in Christ,
    Joby

  2. Hi Father, My husband and I are catching up on your podcast. We hear that you went to Upstate New York and were apalled by the mass. We are in a quandry when we visit the inlaws who live in the Archdiocese of Albany. It’s just terrible. Extraordinary Eucharistic ministers blessing children and blessing throats for St. Blaise. Are we better off not attending Mass when we visit them? what’s up with that bishop? Can we have Cardinal O’Malley have a word with him? How about Bishop Tobin, he’s not afraid to deal with difficult conversations.
