Prayers for Steve — 8 Comments

  1. Very wise and moving words Father. I am not a Catholic, in fact I am an Anglican, but I love your podcasts and the way you embrace technology to spread the word of God. May the Lord bless you for all your good work and may Steve Jobs rest in peace.

  2. We should pray for all souls and offer them the aid that they cannot obtain on their own. No one should make assumptions about the judgement of another soul but they should channel their energy into prayerful intentions for every soul.

I use devices that Steve and his vision produced. Many of us do and for no other reason, we have a connection to Steve. Let’s all pray for Steve’s soul and while we’re at it, let’s pray the Rosary for all the Poor Souls.

“Incline Thine ear, O Lord, unto our prayers, wherein we humbly pray Thee to show Thy mercy upon the soul of Thy servant, Steve Jobs, whom Thou hast commanded to pass out of this world , that Thou wouldst place him in the region of peace and light, and bid him be a partaker with Thy Saints. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

    Requiescat in Pace , Steve!

  3. We are made in the “image and likeness of God.” Steve Jobs had great creativity. And just as God did, Steve saw that his creations were good. It’s up to the rest of us to use these gifts for good or evil. I thank God, and Steve Jobs, for a device that allows me to carry the Bible in my pocket, share music with children in our Religious Ed classes, and offers apps that help me to grow spiritually. Thank you, God, for Steve Jobs and may he be with you for all eternity.

  5. Phew!

I’ve been searching all over the Internet to see if someone else noticed what was put in front of our noses, for the whole world to see, and right when I was begining to doubt on how to go about talking of modern day miracles, I read this. I didn’t know Steve Jobs either. But all I could think of when I heard the news about his passing was that it didn’t matter what anyone thought. The fact was that he died on Saint Faustyna’s day. And then I read his death certificate stated that he died around 3:00p.m. And as if it wasn’t enough, in her eulogy his sister said of his last moments that:

“Steve’s final words, hours earlier, were monosyllables, repeated three times.

Before embarking, he’d looked at his sister Patty, then for a long time at his children, then at his life’s partner, Laurene, and then over their shoulders past them.

    Steve’s final words were:

OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.”

  6. I did a search Steve Jobs Divine Mercy and came up on this article. I only searched about it because I was reviewing some videos about Steve’s life, and suddenly thought about God’s divine mercy to all, which would of course include Steve. Even those who do not become Christians during their life, may reach heaven. Our Lord Jesus is so merciful that he wants us all there, so he will do everything possible to call everyone to him. Why would Steve be an exception?

Steve really changed the world, and we all love him because of the wonderful products he introduced. That doesn’t grant him heaven. But his suffering for me was a sign that God wanted him there. So I pray that he is there. Our merciful God is compassionate about all. God bless him! May he rest in peace.
