Important news about the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Recently, the Diocese of Manchester brought out prohibitions agains Br. Andre and the Saint Benedict Center in Richmond NH.
HOWEVER, it is important to be clear that the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Saint Benedict Center in Harvard, MA are IN NO WAY UNDER PROHIBITIONS.
The Slaves in Still River (Harvard, MA) are in good standing with the Most Reverend Robert J. McManus, Bishop of Worcester. And in 2017, Bishop McManus raised the Still River community to a Public Association of the Faithful.
I am privileged and honored to call the Slaves in Still River, both the Brothers and the Sisters, my friends. Below is the Decree of Erection given by Bishop McManus.
Please help them keep their good name by spreading this information and avoiding fake news.
It would be time well spent to consider a name change for this group so that there is a distinction.
Still River is the original group, so no need for them to change their name.
If the sisters are considering a name change from “Slaves” of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I think a gentle title might be Daughters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. For a men’s branch, possibly: Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I’m happy to learn the order is in regular status with the church, as I haven’t heard anything in some years about their status or ministry. God bless all!
They are indeed a great blessing. I’ve known them for years. I don’t think there is any consideration for a name change. They take “Slaves” from their Total Consecration according to de Montfort.
We haven’t heard any negative news about the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. If we do, we will certainly squash any rumors of prohibition of your beautiful order. God bless you all! Sincerely in JMJ, Mary Eileen Hanisch
