Should we forego reverence for popularity?

IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on March 4, 2010 by Fr. Jay FinelliMarch 4, 2010 2

Although this story is already almost a week old, I cannot for the life of me understand how any priest in his right mind can offer a 15 Minute Mass with a clear conscience.  Even when I say Mass on … Continue reading →

Signs and Proofs

IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on March 2, 2010 by Fr. Jay FinelliMarch 2, 2010

Most of us have heard some theologian or Biblical scholar deny a dogmatic teaching of the Church or a story in Sacred Scripture.  In fact, if you went through the seminary, you probably hear a professor or had required reading … Continue reading →

What does he expect?

IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on February 18, 2010 by Fr. Jay FinelliFebruary 18, 2010 2

My comments in bold. Taken from LifeSiteNews. REUSEL, Netherlands, February 17, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Catholic priest in the small Dutch town of Reusel is drawing criticism for his decision last week to deny communion to an openly homosexual man, … Continue reading →

What has become of us?

IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on February 17, 2010 by Fr. Jay FinelliFebruary 17, 2010 2

A recent article in The Seattle Times is entitled “America, a nation of slobs”.  I would dear to say that most of us, over the age of 40 can remember the days when people dressed for many occasions.  As a … Continue reading →

Invocation of the Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.

℣. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
℟. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord.

or in Latin

Veni, Sancte Spiritus, reple tuorum corda fidelium: et tui amoris in eis ignem accende.

℣. Emitte Spiritum tuum, et creabuntur.
℟.Et renovabis faciem terrae.

Oremus.

Deus, qui corda fidelium Sancti Spiritus illustratione docuisti: da nobis in eodem Spiritu recta sapere; et de eius semper consolatione gaudere. Per Christum, Dominum nostrum.
