IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on June 12, 2016 by Fr. Jay FinelliJune 12, 2016

I posted something last year about the reconstruction of St. Anthony’s face, but it’s worth reposting. St. Anthony, help us find ourselves in Christ, help us find our heritage, help us find our tradition. We know

IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on April 24, 2015 by Fr. Jay FinelliApril 24, 2015

I must admit that I did not know much at all about Blessed John Henry Newman. This DVD was indeed a treat. The documentary presents the man who had many conversions throughout his life, as does any man who is searching for the … Continue reading →

My encounter with saints

IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on October 22, 2014 by Fr. Jay FinelliOctober 22, 2014

In just a few days, 1 November, we celebrate the Solemnity of all Saints. On this great feast day, we celebrate those men, women and children who are in heaven, but not on the Roman Calendar. Reality is that we … Continue reading →

IPadre Catholic Podcasting Posted on June 21, 2014 by Fr. Jay FinelliJune 21, 2014

Today is the feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga. When I was recently on pilgrimage to Rome, I visited his tomb. St. Aloysius is buried in the Basilica of St. Ignatius of Loyola in Rome. To the right of his tomb is … Continue reading →

Invocation of the Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.

℣. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
℟. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord.

or in Latin

Veni, Sancte Spiritus, reple tuorum corda fidelium: et tui amoris in eis ignem accende.

℣. Emitte Spiritum tuum, et creabuntur.
℟.Et renovabis faciem terrae.

Oremus.

Deus, qui corda fidelium Sancti Spiritus illustratione docuisti: da nobis in eodem Spiritu recta sapere; et de eius semper consolatione gaudere. Per Christum, Dominum nostrum.
